What does the International Healthcare Research Center do?
IHRC is a think tank and knowledge broker for the global health, medical tourism and wellness tourism industries. Our ultimate goal is to become a repository of data relevant to medical tourism and global healthcare.
Are you an independent organization?
Yes, IHRC is a 501c (3) independent and non-profit research center.
Is IHRC backed by a university or other academic organization?
IHRC is presently exploring partnership opportunities with several international universities. However, at the present time IHRC is not backed by a university except indirectly through its advisors and the universities they represent.
Who funds the center?
At the present time funding is appropriated through private parties, however, IHRC will apply for grants on some future projects.
How long has IHRC been active?
Since February of 2012.
Where does IHRC publish its work?
Currently online through Medical Tourism Magazine, the Medical Tourism Association® website, Health Tourism Magazine, Medical Tourism City, and through published reports and also at global events. In the future IHRC will be developing its own academic journals in the areas of global health, medical tourism and wellness tourism.

Yes, rigorous and time tested methodologies are used for all surveys, and peer reviewed data is utilized for research projects. For example, during research for the Medical Tourism Index, IHRC followed a rigorous 8 step methodological, statistical and index construction procedure to develop this psychometric measurement.
